The Real Inspector Hound

By Tom Stoppard
Directed by Isaac Owen
By Special Arrangement with Origin Theatrical

Welcome to the theatre where no one is true, no one is false, no truth is true, and no truth is false. Two critics Birdboot and Moon come to watch a ludicrous whodunnit play set in an old country home. By chance, the Critics become involved in the action setting off a series of events that parallel the play they are watching. It takes quite a while before anyone notices the corpse under the couch. Roar with laughter as red herrings, dramatic deaths, romantic intrigues, and stereotypical characters unfurl in Tom Stoppard’s classic multifaceted delight.

Caravan

By Donald McDonald
Directed by Joy Sweeney

Three couples, two weeks and one caravan! The Robinsons love their annual summer holiday, living the Aussie dream by the beach in their luxury caravan but this year they have invited their best friends, all nudging forty and hating it. To make matters worse, Pierce insists on bringing his new, all-too-young girlfriend. In the confined space of a caravan tensions rise and the laughs begin. Donald MacDonald’s comedy Caravan takes a light-hearted look at friendship, age and the holiday you should never take.

Alfred Deakin is afraid of the dark

By Carla Moore
Directed by Carla Moore

This original and lively interpretation deals with Australia’s most surprising Prime Minister Alfred Deakin who stood comfortable in the same social democratic tradition as the Australian Labour Party, yet was also the Father of the modern Liberal Party. Deakin was a man surrounded by women who adored him; a man who believe in Ouija boards and mediums, yet ironically was afraid of the dark, a man who wrote poetry to his wife, yet was the architect of the White Australia Policy. This play questions ‘is Australia fair?’ and warns that ‘those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.’
